The Tigers team play Dyfed league matches with clubs across the counties of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. The format for all league matches shall be four-ball better ball match play to be played off 90% of the handicap difference.
The maximum handicap allowed shall be 15, and the maximum number of strokes received between players will be 6, although higher handicap players can still represent the club but unfortunately have to assume their handicap as 15 for these league matches.
Teams will comprise of 8 pairs in division 1 and 2, so willing players are always in demand. Matches are played on a weekend.
This year sees SPGC competing in Division 2 against teams from Newport Links, Tenby, Ashburnham, Derllys Court & Aberystwyth Golf clubs.

The Rabbits Section offers an opportunity for club members, with handicaps between 12.5 and 28+.
We play competitive friendly golf with clubs across the counties of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
Matches are played home and away through the summer months, usually on a Sunday, on a 4 Ball Better Ball format.
There is also an inter-section match held against the Tigers, at the beginning of the season in March, for the Highgate Cup.
Individual stableford competitions, for the Val Zimmer Shield and the Rabbits Presidents Cup are held internally and the Rabbits Open, which is rotated around the clubs, are available for members of the Rabbits Section.

The Rabbits Section is open to Ladies and Juniors.
We also have an away day usually in September.
The Senior’s Section meet on a Tuesday and a Thursday with tee times reserved from 8.00am – 10.00am / Matches 11.00am.
It is open to men aged 55 and over.
New members are always made welcome. Playing on Tuesdays and Thursdays is a great way to get to know each other.
There are around 30+ Seniors who play on a Tuesday which is a shotgun start, which enables the Seniors to socialize after golf.
There are around 20+ Seniors who play in the Roll up on a Thursday.
There are competitions organised each week, including a number of qualifying events to enable members to retain their handicaps.
We play friendly matches with 7 other clubs on a home and away basis.
We also have away days in April, July and September. These are always well supported.
Each year on the Seniors Captains Day money is raised for his chosen charity.
You are not restricted to playing golf only on a Tuesday and Thursday – The course is available 7 days a week – the only restriction being during competitions.
There are plenty of opportunities to play mixed golf throughout the year.
The Ladies Section is managed by its own committee which is chaired by the Lady Captain.
We meet on a Wednesday, when the majority of their competitions are held, tee times are reserved from 8.30am – 10.30am.
Usually at least 20 ladies play each week and new members are always made welcome.
There is plenty of golf arranged for the competitive and the not so competitive golfer. This includes many fun competitions, especially during the winter.
If the weather determines that no golf is played on a Wednesday the ladies still meet at the clubhouse for lunch.
During the summer there are monthly medals, regular qualifying stableford competitions and a number of club summer cup competitions.
As a lady member you are not restricted to playing only on a Wednesday – the course is available to all members 7 days a week.
For those who enjoy playing mixed golf, there are many competitions held throughout the year including a ‘Friendly Foursomes’ competition which is held once a month on a Sunday.
The Lady Captain’s away trip is always popular. This comprises two nights away with two rounds of golf at a course and hotel, usually in South Wales.
Our Lady Captain has her own day when she invites all the lady members and guests to play and this is followed by a presentation evening with a meal and much merriment!
We also arrange to play at other clubs’ open days and the West Wales Ladies Golf Association competitions.
South Pembrokeshire Ladies compete in the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire League and last year came very close to promotion to League Division One. Everyone usually has an opportunity to take part as there are 6 fixtures, 3 of which are at home and 3 away.
Each year the Lady Captain chooses a charity to support and money is raised throughout the year through competitions on a Wednesday and at the Lady Captain’s Charity Day in the autumn.
We also hold a number of coffee mornings to raise money for the section.
South Pembrokeshire Ladies enjoy their golf and socialising and look forward to welcoming new ladies to the section.
We are rejuvenating our Junior Section which commenced in July 2019 with our New2golf scheme for ages 6yrs to 17yrs of all abilities. All you have to do is register, you will have 6 FREE lessons and once completed the scheme entitles you to a further series of 6 free lessons for a fee of £25 plus other benefits if you are interested. The Golf Club also has a 5 hole practice area which allows all the new starters to practice their new skills at any time that is convenient to them.

South Pembrokeshire Golf Club have participated in the Pembroke and Pembroke Dock quiz league for almost five years. The current team consists of, Simon Bourne, Alex Jukes, Michael Watkins and Terence Watkins. Since joining the quiz league, we have won the league once and also the end of season cup competition once. We are currently languishing in third place, ten points below the leading team. We are one of eight teams in the league, the others being from the Charlton 2, First and Last 2, The Station 2, StGovans Inn 1. The league runs from October to the end of March with the cup competition taking place in April, followed by cups being presented to the respective league and cup winners.
